FEATURES
Two exclusive features of this treadmill are its Rear Roller Drive and its Variable Soft Deck with optical feedback control.
Rear Roller Drive
The rear roller drive consists of a motor suspeneded in a 5 inch roller. The advantages of a rear roller drive are:
(1) Requires substantially less belt tension as it is pulling the exerciser rather than pushing, which improves belt life and tracking.
(2) Smaller footprint.
(3) No shroud to get in the way of the runner’s foot.
A quote from Health and Fitness Business News, Magazine,
describes an attempt by one of our competitors who is trying to match our design: “One of the main benefits of this advancement is the ability to house the motor, belts and pulleys in one unit, reducing maintenance costs for the unit. An additional benefit is the ability to have an effective rear-driven belt that is pulled rather than pushed.” The article then quotes our wannabe competitor directly who says: “Now treadmills can go to rear-drive, which will reduce the horse power needed to drive the belt. It will also improve the tracking of the belt, reducing the wear and tear of the belt.”
However, we are the ONLY company which has achieved a proven “motor inside” rear-roller drive in a treadmill NOW. A full motion video demo of the rear-roller drive can be seen on page Power Roller.
Soft Deck
The “vari-soft” (TM) deck is NOT merely rubber bumpers surface, but an electronic spring suspension system which deflects with each step, and
provides a push-off for the next step. The amount of “give” is variable and automatically adjusts to the runner’s weight and running speed.
The variable soft deck’s unparalleled shock absorption is especially appealing to the large number of fitness-minded but aging baby-boomers who are prime canditates for “runner’s knee”.
